QASP has a total of 10 C-Lock SmartFeed Pro units. The SmartFeed system combines RFID, load cell and feed bin technology to accurately track and record data related to feed intake of individual animals during their visits to the feeding stations. The Pro version has an RFID controlled gate that allows an access schedule to be set and the usage/access of specific animals can be allowed or excluded. With this system, you can feed different diet treatments within a group setting, which makes these units perfect for larger scale nutritional studies.

All data is automatically processed and logged so the user can access real-time residual feed intake measurements. The raw data is also made available to the user. By continuously logging data and monitoring feed intake on a per-visit, per-animal basis, the system provides valuable insights into feed efficiency. The SmartFeed units transmit data independently to a cloud-based server, which can be accessed in real-time from a desktop or smart device. They will also send alerts to the user when specific animals have low feed consumption or have not logged a visit in a certain amount of time, so that problems with individual animals can be addressed quickly.

QASP also has the capacity to mix research diets on-site and deliver these to the SmartFeed units with our feed mixer and tractor.
