Surgical facilities with animal recovery room

In the non-contained area within the main building of QASP we have the facilities to set up an animal clinic encompassing a preparation room, an operating theatre and animal recovery room.

The preparation room has bench and storage space as well as washing up facilities and autoclave. The operating theatre is an open space so it can be customised to suit animal species and the needs of individual research projects. A portable surgery light and a variety of surgical tables can be provided, and equipment and consumables can either be brought in by the researcher or QASP staff can provide materials on request.

The animal recovery room is easy to clean and has direct access to the outside which facilitates easy transport and relocation of animals.

QASP can provide anesthetic circuits and monitoring equipment for procedures conducted on site.
